    LSC hosts Black Male Summit on Nov. 12

    WHAT:
    Black Male Summit: Developing Men of Distinction. More than 750 African-American male high school juniors and seniors, and LSC-North Harris students will gather for a day of activities and to promote multi-level success for African-American males. The summit is being offered for the second consecutive year in response to the overwhelming 2008 summit participation from the college’s service area high schools and LSCS campuses. Lone Star College-North Harris, LSC-Greenspoint Center, and LSC-Carver Center are passionate about providing educational opportunities for the successful development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes for a rapidly changing world.

    DESCRIPTION:
    The Black Male Summit: Men of Distinction event will feature keynote presentations, topics and real solutions related to strengthening family, closing the achievement gap, developing and foster constructive relationships and staying on course with one’s goals. This year’s speakers include State Representative Sylvester Turner, Dr. Tyrone Bledsoe, executive director of the Student African-American Brotherhood organization (SAAB), and Kirk Nugent, author and motivational speaker.
