The education blog of the Chronicle, "School Zone," reported that the Texas Education Agency released a list today of the worst-performing schools in the state. Of the Greater Houston-area schools that showed up on the list, five were in the Aldine/North Houston area.

The Texas Education Agency released a list today of the worst-performing schools in the state. These are the campuses where 50 percent or more of the students failed TAKS in any two of the last three years or were rated "academically unacceptable" in 2007, 2008 or 2009.

Kashmere High School
Aldine ISD:
Eisenhower Ninth Grade School
