A police car struck and killed a stray horse in north Houston overnight.
An officer, driving along North Victory near Wheatley in the Acres Homes area, hit the horse after the animal ran in front of him, the Houston Police Department said.
The horse died at the scene, and the officer was unhurt. Police did not immediately know the name of the animal's owner.
