From a press release:
Llewelyn-Davies Sahni (LDS), a leading architecture and urban design firm in Houston, announced that it will lead renovation projects at two Houston Independent School District (HISD) elementary campuses. Herrera Elementary and Burris Elementary, both located in North/Northeast Houston, will undergo upgrades including restroom accessibility, mechanical, electrical and plumbing maintenance, and architectural interiors and exteriors. Both projects are part of HISD’s $1.045 billion Facilities Capital Program for new facilities and upgrades.
“The new designs being developed for these schools will help them both be better prepared for their vital mission now and into the future,” said Randhir Sahni, president of Llewelyn-Davies Sahni.
The schools’ new looks are projected to be completed in the fall semester of 2010. The total cost for both projects is estimated at $4.5 million - $3.1 million at Herrera and $1.4 million at Burris.
