A pair of armed robbers are targeting auto parts stores, hitting a dozen of the businesses in a crime wave that began in late December, Houston police said.
Most of the hold-ups have occurred late at night, shortly before closing. But, police said the most recent was 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 at an Auto Zone store in the 4200 block of Aldine Mail Route.
“Both of them are armed (but) so far, they haven't hurt anyone,” said Colleen Nelson, a robbery investigator with the Houston Police Department.
