According to a story by the Chronicle's Shaminder Dulai, Houston fire department crews and a hazardous materials team are investigating reports of a suspicious piece of luggage at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Authorities received a small aircraft emergency call around 2:15 p.m., after a bag was found near terminal D of the airport.
“We're hearing that something was thrown from a plane and there was some sort of explosion,” said HFD Asst. Fire Chief Jack Williams.
