    Toddler found dead in car at family home

    According to a Chronicle story by Mike Glenn, a toddler was found dead this evening inside a car parked outside his family's northeast Harris County home.

    The boy, identified by relatives as Jayden Woodward, 2 1/2, was discovered about 7 p.m. after Harris County sheriff's deputies were sent to the home in the 11300 block of Hartley.

    Police look for help in Chase Bank heist

    Authorities released a surveillance photo of a man they say robbed a bank last week in northeast Houston. The robbery occurred at a Chase Bank on the 9400 block of Mesa at noon on Saturday.

    HCHD clinics offer free August immunizations

    The Harris County Hospital District’s School-Based Clinics are offering free immunizations for four Tuesdays in August, starting Aug. 10. Two of the HCHD clinics are located in the north Houston area.

    18 arrested in weekend raid at flea market

    Agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement raided a flea market on Airline near Gulf Bank over the weekend and arrested 18 people wanted in connection with the creation and distribution of fraudulent documents.

    Woman helps recover baby taken in stolen car

    An 81-year-old Arbor Oaks resident opened her door yesterday to find a 3-month-old baby crying on her doorstep. The baby was dropped off after a car thief stole a 2005 Chevy Malibu with the baby in the back seat.

    Body scanners arriving at Bush in August

    Bush Intercontinental will soon receive radiation imaging equipment that allows airport safety workers to peer past clothing to check for dangerous items. Two of the machines will arrive in August, and the airport should receive 16 more by December.

    HPD gets old 737 for anti-terrorism training

    The newest training tool in the Houston Police Department's arsenal is a former Air Force 737 Boeing jet. The department will use it to train officers on dealing with on-board terrorists.

    Early morning fire leaves family of 4 homeless

    A mother and her three children were left homeless after a suspicious fire destroyed their one-story house Sunday morning. The house was located near the intersection of De Priest and Morrow.
