    The American Heart Association is asking women to show their support for the fight against heart disease in women by wearing red this Friday, Feb. 5. It's National Wear Red Day, part of a movement by AHA to raise awareness about heart disease in women.

    Sonrise Community Church and Keeping Kids Off the Streets teamed up for "Gospel Skating," a toy giveaway at the Lockwood Skating Palace. Keeping Kids Off the Streets founder Jo Ann L. Chase-Jones said that 700 children attended the event. Chase-Jones said that her foundation holds a variety of events benefiting kids, such as back-to-school supply giveaways.
