A number of North Forest ISD students will get the upcoming school year off to an early start when the YES Prep North Forest Summer Session begins on Monday, July 12. The new campus is a partnership between North Forest ISD and YES Prep Public Schools.

A 43-year-old North Forest police officer was arrested Monday, accused of abuse of official capacity. An official stated the allegations stem from a May 2009 traffic incident.

North Forest ISD will hold its annual district-wide science fair from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at North Forest High School, 10725 Mesa Road, in the commons area.

A deliberative thought provoking process was evident as North Forest leaders discussed entrepreneurship plans for the community. HCC Board Trustee Bruce A. Austin participated in the process that was guided by HCC Northeast President, Dr. Margaret Ford Fisher and Mr. Peter Linden, who served as discussion facilitator.

Forest Brook Middle School students have teamed up with the Xi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Lily Grove Baptist Church to continue Haitian relief efforts, donating more than 200 shoeboxes full of toiletries to the victims of the earthquake.
