From a press release:
State Representative Armando Walle announced that the Texas Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing on the proposed widening of Little York Road from Airline Drive to Hardy Toll Road on Thursday, November 19, 2009.
"I encourage all local residents who are interested in the expansion of Little York Road to attend this public hearing and make their voices heard," said Rep. Walle.
The public hearing will be held at Patrick Henry Middle School at 10702 East Hardy Road. The formal presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19 and there will be an open house beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The purpose of this hearing is to present the Environmental Assessment and to receive comments from local residents. The City of Houston proposes to replace the existing 2-lane undivided road with a 4-lane divided road, a raised median, and curbs and gutters within the existing 100-foot right-of-way. The widening of Little York Road would not require additional right-of-way and would not displace residences or businesses.
All interested citizens are welcome to attend the hearing. The public is also requested to make oral or written comments about this proposed project. Comments may be presented either at the hearing or in writing after the hearing. Written statements may be sent by mail to the Director of Project Development, TxDOT Houston District, P.O. Box 1386, Houston, Texas 77251 or by e-mail to hou-piowebmail@dot.state.tx.us [1].
